Béziers

Béziers is no more than half an hour by car from Marseillan Plage. It is renowned as one of France's oldest towns, and has an impressive collection of historical monuments in the town centre, making it a typical Languedoc town, with its roots in history, culture and elegant living.

As one of the leading wine centres in the Languedoc region, Béziers is naturally the home to great culinary traditions. Its wine can be best appreciated when accompanying the local specialities, inherited from the Mediterranean culture, that can be enjoyed in any of the town's many restaurants.

Béziers is on the plain that dominates the River Orb and the Canal du Midi, some 5 kilometres from the Mediterranean coast and the beaches of Valras and Portiragnes. There is magnificent scenery all along the River Orb.
